The electric tile saw is more powerful than manual cutting, it is affordable, and easy to use.

Perhaps the blade is a bit crooked? All in all not that big of a deal and the tilt feature is nice to have, although I really didn't need it.
When we found this saw, at a cost of $88. I'm already on my second project with the saw so it has now paid for its self in rental savings. But the next one was perfect and I was still able to use the blundered one. Works great on ceramic, slate and marblewe've used them all! I got a little wet from it when making irregular cuts because I had the guard set higher so I could see the blade but that's nothing. The only other draw back is that you only have the 7 inches in which to cutso you end up turning around some tiles to jeremy camp restored lyric cut them, or you have to "free-hand" cut the tiles without a guide sometimes.

If not, the water that the blade kicks onto the steel table surface can spill off rather than going back into the trough below. I did try to do some plunge cutting and that worked just fine too. The unit overall was great for the home projects and it is small and lightweight to move around. But if budget is really tight and job not too complicated (ie, intricate cuts) this saw should serve you just fine. We were very pleasantly surprised how well it worked considering it was less expensive than others.
